Orthokeratology offers the possibility of obtaining good vision without having to undergo surgery or wear glasses or contact lenses during the day.
What is orthokeratology or Ortho-K?
Orthokeratology or ortho-k are a type of corrective contact lenses that, after adaptation, are placed to sleep for a minimum of 6-8 hours. With the use of these lenses, it is possible to temporarily reduce the graduation that the patient presents, so that during the day the use of glasses or contact lenses would not be necessary.
This type of contact lens treats the corneal curvature, so that once the treatment is stabilized, good visual acuity is achieved without any other type of visual aid. To find the maximum effectiveness of the process, its daily use is recommended in the first 15 days and from then on the result can be stretched over time, lasting up to 72 hours depending on each eye.
